This is a live demonstration of Acne Scar Revision Treatment with a technique called subcision by Dr Philip Young MD from Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery of Bellevue Washington. Subcision can mean several things. One is the use of a needle or cannula to stimulate the deeper layers of a depressed scar to create tissue or scar tissue creation under the depressed scar to elevate the depression. Another form of subcision is to incise with a blade around the depressed scar that is then carefully elevated and then sutured closed. Here we are performing subcision by using both an 18 gauge needle and a v dissector to elevate the scar tissue.
